In Broward County Public Schools, the contract process is extensive, highly regulated, and involves numerous district stakeholders. The contract review and approval process can take anywhere from eight months to a year, requiring precise coordination and organization to reach the board.
Since November 2023, I developed and coordinated the instructional technology application contracts within the Department of Innovative Learning. I ensured that every agreement accurately reflected program needs, district requirements, and vendor commitments. This work required close collaboration with vendors and multiple internal teams, including the Privacy Officer, IT Security, Risk Management, and Research and Evaluation, and the General Counsel's Office. When applicable, I also partnered with the Grants Department to align funding and compliance requirements.
I managed contract timelines to prevent lapses, resolve issues, and ensure that agreements moved through the district’s multi‑layered review process with enough lead time for board consideration. Several of the contracts I coordinated were publicly recognized from the dais for their clarity and thoroughness, reflecting the care and attention I brought to the work.
My work in contract development strengthened vendor relationships, improved internal coordination, and supported the successful implementation of digital tools across the district.
Ultimately, I brought nine vendor contracts to the board for approval, expanding technology integration options and ensuring equitable access for all 240 K–12 schools.
